Claremont McKenna College (CMC) is one of the five schools that make up the Claremont consortium. CMC began planning for renovation and replacement of the old Duecy Gymnasium in 2006-2007, during which time administration realized that to simply replace the facility would not sustain the college long term. Subsequently a design competition was held and with a significant donation from George Roberts a new direction was chosen.

The new direction was the development of Roberts Pavilion which houses; arena with seating for 1,800, recreation gymnasium, weight room, fitness center, athletic locker rooms, sports medicine, recreation offices and athletic offices. The new 130,000 square foot facility is going to have a significant impact to students and student-athletes on campus.

CMC contracted with B*K to provide a variety of pre-opening services that included; development of staffing plan (full-time and part-time), development of an operational budget, development of a memorandum of understanding, milestone schedules and policies and procedures. B*K also assisted with the hiring of the new Roberts Pavilion Manager and assisted with a series of four Preview Weekends in April. During the Preview Weekends students at CMC were able to use Roberts Pavilion.
