Wilson Park Pool is at the end of its useful life. The City of Fayetteville sought a consultant to assess the growing community interest in expanding and enhancing aquatic opportunities.
Ballard*King assisted in the evaluation of the Wilson Park Pool including the current operations, limitations and gaps in services. From there, B*K assessed the potential to broaden Fayetteville’s aquatic services across recreational, instructional, and competitive uses. This included a regional demographic analysis, benchmarking of peer and local aquatic providers, and a review of national and regional trends. The study ultimately developed a recommended facility program and operating pro forma to help the City understand the anticipated investment and annual operational needs. The program included an indoor aquatic center w/ a 25-yard competitive pool and leisure pool with an expansive outdoor facility with a leisure pool, slides, surf simulator, splash pad and adult pool.
