Project Details:

  • Completion Date: 06 May 2014
  • Partner: Jacobs, Planning Design Studio
  • Facility Type: Sports Facilities, Recreation Center Feasibility Studies
  • Client Category: Municipal & Government

The Parks & Recreation Department was tasked with determining the best use of a hotel/motel tax within the City of Cape Girardeau. To determine the best use they engaged a project team to evaluate three facility types; competitive aquatic center, fieldhouse and ag-expo center. A key factor that needed to be evaluated in the process was the potential economic impact of each of the facility types.

B*K played a significant role in the process by providing the following services; market analysis and participation statistics, on-site public input, benchmarking of all facility types, operational opinion and a potential economic impact.

The resulting facility is the Cape Girardeau Sportplex
