The City of El Paso passed a health and wellness initiative which provided dollars to improve and develop many of their parks and recreation facilities around the community. Eastside Park is one such facility that received significant funding from this initiative.
The overall master plan for Eastside Park involved a significant amount of public input and coordination with current City of El Paso efforts. The resulting park plan included; skate/BMX park, community/senior/aquatic centers, outdoor amphitheater, tennis and hand ball courts, 6 rectangle fields, 4 diamond fields, multiple shelters and passive green space.
B*K’s role in the development of the master plan was to participate in the stakeholder meetings and focus groups, provide a demographic overview of the community along with participation rates, and finally develop a full operations plan for the community/senior/aquatic center.
