In 1986 the James City/Williamsburg Recreation Center was 33,000 square feet. The Center was expanded in 1997 to 84,000 square feet costing 5.5 million dollars. The new facility houses a multitude of amenities including space for community activities in addition to the physical activity areas. The Center includes a senior and teen lounge, fitness spaces, aquatic facility, gymnasium and racquetball court.
