Mt. Vernon hired a team to complete a master plan of their two primary parks, and determine if the community would support an indoor community recreation center.

Ballard*King was a member of the team that the City of Mt. Vernon hired to complete a master plan for their two primary parks and complete a feasibility study for a community recreation center. B*K worked closely with Planning Design Studio and ETC Institute to help develop the survey instrument. While the survey was being developed and administered, B*K completed a market assessment. The market assessment included analysis of demographics, development of participation rates, review of facility trends, and identification of alternative providers. When the results of the survey were layered with the market assessment, B*K used this data to develop facility program recommendations for a community recreation center. As a final step in the study process, B*K offered operational considerations with respect to the park improvements. Additionally, B*K developed a comprehensive operational plan for the proposed indoor community recreation center.
