The North Kansas City Community Center encompasses 96, 000 SF and offers numerous amenities. The aquatic center of 6, 400 SF includes a lap and leisure pool with slide, vortex, bubble couch and lazy river. The pool also features an on-deck warm water spa, a steam room and sauna. The twenty-five foot climbing wall provides an exciting challenge for many. A gymnasium with three-basketball/four-volleyball court activity area, with one court dedicated to fulltime drop-in play, is a popular place for patrons. In addition, there is a suspended jogging track, cardiovascular and weight training area and an aerobic/dance area, meeting rooms and multi-purpose rooms with caterer’s kitchen, cable connections and audiovisual capabilities.
A Senior Room at the Community Center is a special area for senior citizens. It serves as a drop-in center and an area for individual or small group activities.
B*K was responsible for an extensive feasibility study for this premier community center. Included in the scope of services was facility programming, design review, equipment specifications, market analysis and operations pro-forma.
