B*K assisted with the Pelican Park expansion project which was completed in stages for the Recreation District No. 16 of St. Tammany Parish. The project included sports fields for baseball, soccer, and football as well as a large events building. One addition was the Castine Center, which is a 46, 000 SF facility with 4 basketball courts. In addition, the park expansion included adding 10 lighted athletic fields and a court to the gymnasium. The Park currently consists of 23 athletic fields, a 3 court gym, and the Castine Center. They estimate that the Park has over 10, 000 visitations on a typical Saturday.
B*K completed a master plan for the expansion of the Pelican Park sports complex. The project team was responsible for the prioritization of user group needs, gathering of public input, site analysis and master planning, development of program spaces and capital funding needs as well as operating cost and revenue analysis.
